JORGE NAVES
Jorge is the captain of our boat Perla Blanca I and comes from Gijon in the Asturias region of mainland Spain. After spending 22 years working as a logistics manager in the industrial sector in the north of Spain he decided to embark on a career change.
His hobbies of scuba-diving and boating then became his full time vocation resulting in his attaining his first diving instructor qualification in 2013 and his captain´s licence in 2018.
Before settling in Lanzarote Jorge had previously worked in both these fields in mainland Spain and Gran Canaria.
Jorge speaks Spanish, English et il peut parler un peu Francais.
MARIA RIVERA
María is the latest addition to the team of Perla Blanca I. A Higher Technician in Imaging and a certified scuba diving instructor, she has spent over a decade living in Lanzarote, building her professional life always closely connected to the sea.
From a very young age, she has felt a deep connection with the ocean, especially with cetaceans and sharks. This passion has driven her to train, dive, teach, and stay close to the marine environment she knows and respects profoundly.
She has extensive experience working with children, sharing with the little ones a sense of curiosity, respect, and love for the sea in a natural and engaging way.
With a solid background in showing Lanzarote from within, María has a genuine devotion to the island and the ocean that surrounds it. Her greatest motivation is to share that knowledge and passion with visitors, offering an authentic and memorable experience.
Maria speaks Spanish, English and German and is also a qualified scuba-diving instructor.
